Retreat 2016

Mariposa Poetry Retreat 2016

What is so special about the Mariposa Poetry Retreat? We limit attendance to 25 participants.Yes, it's small compared to other retreats but we pack a lot into one weekend. It's an intimate space that offers an intense and unique writing experience. We build community. It's where the magic of poetry happens!

Join us this year, October 14-16th, to celebrate and honor the muse with new and returning faculty members Ann Bracken, Sarah Browning, Grace Cavalieri, Le Hinton and keynote speaker, Merrill Leffler. As always, Michael Friend and Soul in Motion will "bless our boats" at the Welcoming Reception. New this year is an informal panel discussion on Friday afternoon at our "beloved" Poetry Lodge "Bet".

Also new this year is that we will be sponsoring our first intern! With your support, we've been able to award scholarships to veterans, poets and international participants who would otherwise not have been able to attend. If you are interested and able to defray the cost for our first intern, please let me know if you can help. Your generosity is always appreciated!

If you've attended the Mariposa Poetry Retreat in the past, you won't want to miss this one either. If you haven't attended, then here's an opportunity to do so.

If you are unable to attend, please share this information with those you think would enjoy attending. As is customary, registration begins at the Memorial Day Writer's Project on Memorial Day at the National Mall near 20th and Constitution Ave between 11:00 am (1100 hrs) and 5:00 pm (1700 hrs). Please help spread the word!
